Whether it’s fermented rice (sake) or malted barley (beer), we’re on a mission to provide the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a favorite, or new, adult beverage in North Carolina’s Triangle. By combining our years of expertise in Japanese grocery retail with our in-house Sake sommelier, we’re well equipped to enhance your evening! We hope you take a moment to stop by in 2025, or swing in for a few sips in 2026.

About us
We began our journey with Toyo Shokuhin Japanese Grocery and Gifts (also located at 748 E Chatham), but found that the customers had a steadily increasing curiosity in sake. So we decided to showcase our large sake selection, certified sake advisor, and Sake Sommelier (international kikisake-shi) by opening a dedicated sake bottle shop and tasting bar! Now you too can experience a taste of Japan, without buying the whole bottle!
